Connor is one lucky fellow...

I had a shower in Houston this weekend, and Connor got lots of loot! It was great to get to see all of my family and friends again. I was so exhausted at the end of the day, but I had to go through all of the gifts one more time that night because I was just so excited. I can't wait to actually get to use all of our great new stuff! I have included a few pictures for your viewing pleasure.

Apparently Connor is going to be the number one pitcher in the majors. D.K. is already talking about building a pitching mound beside our house!

I am sure that both Nana and Aunt Colette will get plenty of calls begging for advice!

It's a Boy!

That's right. We are having a boy. His name will be Connor Harold, and I will get the picture from the last ultrasound on here as soon as possible.

Laying Around

I am writing to you from the non-comfort of my hospital bed. That's right. No need to be concerned, though. I started bleeding yesterday, but they are not too concerned about it. They kept me overnight at the hospital just to be sure everything was okay. I have to have an ultrasound with a perinatologist, and if everything goes well, we will be on our way home. I have to take it easy for a few days, but other than that I can go back to my normal activity. I am not sure when the ultrasound will be, but I will definitely keep everyone updated.

Just So You Know

I went to the doctor today and everything seems to be going fine. I finally gained weight, so I don't have to go back to the doctor for 4 more weeks. This is definitely more convenient than once a week. I have my next ultrasound on Marach 19, so for those of you who are anxiously waiting to find out if we are having a Connor or a Claire (ME!), I will let you know when I do.

Sunny Mexico

We just got back from Mexico, and I am already planning our next trip. Of course, it will be a while before we take that trip for two reasons...a) money and b) the new baby. I just wanted to put some of our pictures on here so that we could make you all jealous. Enjoy! (Sorry I couldn't figure out how to rotate the first one.)

Don't Worry

Yes...I did visit the hospital. Everything is fine. We just felt like waisting a day and weren't able to think of a cheaper way to do it. I was dehydrated and had to have two IV bags and a NASTY potassium drink. Imagine that you are dying of thirst and someone gives you an ice cold orange gatorade. Sounds pretty good, right. Now imagine that they added a cup of salt to your wonderful orange gatorade. Not so good anymore! Needless to say, I threw half of that up. At least I was able to hold it down until we got home. They may have forced more on me if they knew it was going to go down the drain! So...long story short...I am fine and drinking lots of fluid...D.K. is worrying like a mother hen...and most importantly...the baby is just living it up in his or her happy little home and doesn't have a clue that there was ever any sign of danger!

Happy Birthday!

D.K. officially hit the BIG 3-0 today. I am not sure that he really felt any different, but he did say that he fell to his knees when he got out of bed this morning. No, he is not aging that quickly...he is training for a 5K in April and ran pretty hard yesterday. I will obviously not be running with him, but I will definitely cheer him on from the sidelines!

We Survived

For anyone who has been keeping up with the national weather, you know that Lubbock would surely be facing the end of the world this weekend. That's right, 15" of snow and power outages were definitely on their way. The local weather forecasters were recommending that everyone go out and stock up on fire wood and enough food to survive a few days without power. We did not go get all the needed supplies because I was dying from all day sickness and contemplating the hospital. Besides, any food I ate was just going to go straight down the toilet any way. Even without our rations, we made it through and, God willing, we will be waking up to another day tomorrow.

Although predicting the weather is normally such an exact science, they were a little off this time. The end of the world only brought a few inches of ice on Friday and a few inches of snow on Saturday. That power outage must have happened during the few short hours of the night that I was actually sleeping. (My body is already preparing me for those nightly feedings by waking me up every few hours to pee! Isn't that wonderful.) Well...We just wanted to assure all of you that we are doing just fine...No need to call out the national guard.
